March–April Discipleship: The Mission of the Church

Discipleship Structure

During the months of March and April, we will study the mission of the church through a weekly discipleship journey designed to strengthen our calling, awaken our passion for souls, and lead us to live with greater obedience to Jesus Christ.

Each week we will focus on a different emphasis:

Week 1 — The Great Commission

Discover that the mission of the church is born in the heart of Jesus Christ and not in a human idea. Learn why we were sent to make disciples, how this command defines the purpose of the church, and how we must respond in obedience to the call to go and proclaim the gospel.

Week 2 — Witnesses with Power

Understand that no one can fulfill God’s mission through human effort alone. Learn how the Holy Spirit equips, strengthens, and gives boldness to testify of Christ, and discover why a church filled with the Spirit is a church active in the mission.

Week 3 — The Mission Begins Nearby

Recognize that the mission is also lived out in our community. Learn how to share the love of Christ with our neighbors, serve with compassion, and become a visible, approachable church committed to reaching those around us.

Week 4 — Called to Go

Explore how God’s call is still active for every believer. Learn that the mission is not only for a few, but a responsibility for the whole church, and discover how to respond with availability, faith, and surrender to God’s purpose for this time.

Week 5 — A Message That Saves

Affirm in your heart that the center of the mission is the gospel of Jesus Christ. Learn what message we must proclaim, why it still has power to transform lives, and how to share it with clarity, love, and conviction in today’s world.

Week 6 — Passion for Souls

Discover that the mission is not fulfilled only through activities, but through a heart moved by compassion. Learn to see people the way God sees them, to feel a burden for the lost, and to develop a spiritual sensitivity that moves us to bring them closer to Christ.

[ Go to Week 6 ]

Week 7 — A Vision for the Nations

Understand that God’s plan reaches far beyond our immediate surroundings. Learn how the church participates in the global mission, why the gospel must reach every nation, and how we can support, pray, and commit ourselves to the expansion of God’s Kingdom.

[ Go to Week 7 ]

Week 8 — Reconciled to Reconcile

Explore how Christ reconciled us to God and entrusted us with the ministry of reconciliation. Learn that the mission also consists of announcing forgiveness, restoration, and new life in Jesus, leading people into a right relationship with God.

[ Go to Week 8 ]

Week 9 — Celebrating the Mission

Learn that a church faithful to Christ proclaims, reaches, evangelizes, disciples, and restores lives for the glory of God. This week invites us to celebrate what the Lord does through His people and to renew our commitment to continue living on mission with joy, faithfulness, and perseverance.

Closing Prayer

Lord, today we respond to Your call with a willing heart. Establish in us a passion for Your mission, fill us with the power of Your Holy Spirit, and make our church a living instrument to reach, evangelize, disciple, and restore many for Your glory. Give us love for souls, obedience to go, and faithfulness to proclaim that salvation is found only in Jesus Christ. Amen.
